The Courage Cultivators Recovery Group is a free, online discussion group where challenges experienced and insights learned during our recovery journeys are shared. A strength-based approach to recovery is encouraged and celebrated.

Turning your camera on for this online meeting is encouraged but not required.

Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, secular, and supportive recovery community where all participants can share, learn, and grow with courage and respect.

The following terms apply to every session, whether you're showing up to participate or just to listen:

  1. Everyone belongs here: We celebrate and respect people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and lived experiences; discriminatory, hateful, or exclusionary language is not permitted.

  2. Share responsibly: Please avoid graphic or detailed stories of substance use, self-harm, trauma, or other potentially triggering experiences.

  3. Speak from your own experience: Share your personal journey using "I" statements rather than giving advice, diagnosing, or telling others what they should do.

  4. Keep it secular: To honour all beliefs and backgrounds, please avoid discussion of religion, prayer, deities, or faith-based teachings during group meetings.

  5. Respect privacy and confidentiality: While confidentiality is requested, it cannot be guaranteed; please avoid sharing identifying information and do not discuss another person's participation or disclosures outside the group.

  6. Make space for everyone: Be mindful of time and allow all attendees an opportunity to share and be heard.

  7. Recovery-focused participation: Please attend sober and participate in a way that supports a safe, stable, and recovery-oriented environment for everyone.

  8. Seek help if you're in crisis: The purpose of this group is to provide encouragement and empowerment and is not a crisis or addiction treatement service. If you're in crisis, please seek help from you local crisis hotline or addiction treatment resources.
