I provide interactive workshops and motivational presentations that address the topic of fear. All workshops can be customized based on your needs, audience size and demographics. Some examples are described below. Let’s connect to see what works for your group or organization!

Workshop One: “Creating Positive Change in Your Life”

Are you feeling stuck? … stuck in a job, stuck in a relationship or stuck in a cycle of your own self-defeating behaviour? Do you feel that making a change in your life requires more energy than you can muster? Would you rather make a list of all of the reasons not to bother, instead of taking action to become unstuck?

You are not alone, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Join me on a journey of self-exploration and courage-gathering. This session empowers you to stop being gripped by fear so that you can start creating change.

In this session, we acknowledge our fearful feelings, learning that this is the springboard to examining how we can move forward despite our fears. With critical introspective techniques, we create the motivation we need to stay on track. Specifically, this workshop covers:

  • how to challenge your self-doubt
  • why it is more important to focus on commitment rather than motivation
  • how to become comfortable with uncertainty
  • what to do when you are feeling overwhelmed

The result? You come away with tangible strategies to stop letting fear hold you back!

Workshop Two: “When Change at Work Doesn’t Work for You”

Is your office being rearranged in a way that doesn’t suit your working style? Are changes to your work schedule threatening your autonomy? Are you feeling that the control you once had is gradually being eroded?

We don’t always have a choice of when disruptive change happens in our workplaces. Decisions are sometimes made that affect how we do our jobs, what’s expected of us and who we work with. Our emotional response to unwanted change can be so powerful, that it prevents us from effectively communicating our needs and concerns. Thus, all hopes for constructive dialogue are dashed and we build walls, not bridges. When change is thrust upon us, sometimes the only thing we have control over is our own attitude. Like it or hate it, the only thing certain about change is that change is certain.

This workshop examines our perspectives and beliefs about organizational change and what we can do for ourselves, so that we are not feeling miserable or stressed! The session focusses on the human side of change management, delving into what motivates our individual attitudes and beliefs. Attendees are provided with valuable introspective tools that they can take away to help them manage change. In doing so, they will be better equipped to build a foundation for collaboration and cooperation.

The following topics are examined:

  • why we respond the way we do and what we can do about it
  • how our brains process fear, and when we should use our conscious versus our subconscious brain to help us manage our fear
  • core beliefs that can create roadblocks to our own job satisfaction
  • past accomplishments that prepare us for change

Don’t underestimate your capacity for managing change – we are more capable than we think. Allow this workshop help you navigate change at your workplace and beyond.

Workshop Three: “Overcome Your Fear of Career Change”

Starting a new career can be daunting, whether it’s your first career, or you’re considering a switch from what you’ve been doing for a long time to something slightly – or completely – different! Sometimes we stall for years before taking action, bogged down in a heap of self-doubt and excuses. When our fear of change is greater than our pain of staying where we are, we stagnate and waste our talents. In the end, we may be filled with dissatisfaction and regret.

Whether you’re a fresh grad embarking on a new journey, or a seasoned employee afraid that it’s too late to make a change, you owe it to yourself to make the most of your talents and your dreams. It’s only too late if you don’t start now!

From office administration to a master’s degree in nuclear physics to motivational speaking, I’ve got more than a few career changes under my belt! This workshop applies my combination of neuro-linguistic programming training, research on fear and personal experience to kick-start your career change. After this session, you will be able to:

  • learn how to use your existing skills to manage your fear of change
  • challenge beliefs that perpetuate fear
  • understand the role of commitment in actualizing your career change
  • apply an approach to networking to make it more effective and enjoyable

See how fear of failure, change and rejection all come into play when considering a career change. Allow my workshop to give your courage a boost, so that you can embrace change and steer your career towards greater job satisfaction. When you decide to manage your fears rather than allowing them to manage you, you will be amazed at what you can achieve!
