When Users leave comments on the Site’s blog comments form, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser’s User agent string to help with spam detection. Blog post comments are publicly available to visitors to the Site.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using the Gravatar service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture, if set, is visible to the public in the context of your comment. If you did not set up a profile picture, a generic avatar will be used.

If you leave a comment on our Site, you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Google Analytics and Mailchimp utilize cookies; their services are used by this Site. Their cookie use is described in the Google Analytics and Mailchimp sections of this privacy policy.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this Site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account with that website and are logged in to that website.

Regarding interaction with external social networks and other external platforms directly from some pages of this Site, the interaction and information obtained through this Site are always subject to the User’s privacy settings for each social network or other external platform. This type of service might still collect traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when Users do not use it.

Who We Share Your Data With

The services contained in this section enable the Owner to monitor and analyze web traffic data (“Data”) and can be used to keep track of User behaviour. The purpose of this monitoring is to better understand Users’ needs and ensure that the Site meets them as best as possible.

Google Analytics

Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Site, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Personal data is anonymized and not linked to the individual User who visited the Site.

Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

Per Google’s Privacy & Terms page, viewable here:, your web browser automatically sends information to Google when you view the Site. The information sent to Google includes the URL of the page you are viewing and your IP address. Google may also set cookies on your browser or read cookies that are already there.

Mailchimp, a registered trademark of The Rocket Science Group, is a marketing and sales tool service provider. This Site uses Mailchimp’s services for email marketing purposes. As a User to the Site, your data, such as your name, email address and other personal contact information that you enter on the Site becomes part of the Contacts data shared with Mailchimp. Mailchimp has a section in their privacy policy specific to how Contacts data is managed and is described here:

Mailchimp uses Contacts data that this Site shares with Mailchimp as well as information collected by Mailchimp automatically about your device and interaction with an email sent to you by the Site’s use of Mailchimp’s services. Mailchimp uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect some of this information. Technologies such as web beacons, pixels and, for the Site Owner’s mobile use of Mailchimp’s services, SDKs are used. Information such as whether emails were delivered and opened and if links in the email were clicked, may be collected. Information about the device and applications you use to access emails sent through the Site’s use of Mailchimp’s services, such as your IP address, your operating system, your browser ID, email client and other information about your system may be tracked to help measure the performance of this Site’s email campaigns. For more details on how Mailchimp accesses and collects Contacts data, please see Mailchimp’s privacy policy link above. Mailchimp’s Cookie Statement is available here:

Mailchimp collects usage data about your interactions with the Site, which may include dates and times you access emails sent to you and your browsing activities (such as what pages are viewed and which emails are opened). This information allows Mailchimp to monitor and prevent abuse of the Mailchimp service by the Site. Mailchimp also collects information regarding metrics related to the deliverability of emails and other electronic communications that the Site sends through its use of Mailchimp. This information allows the Site to improve the content and use of Mailchimp’s services.

Mailchimp may, from time to time, obtain information about you from third-party sources, such as social media platforms, and third-party data providers.

Integration Between Mailchimp and Google Analytics

This Site has connected Mailchimp to Google Analytics to enhance tracking and reporting data regarding your visits to the Site. This means that tracking technologies such as a Mailchimp cookie or JavaScript snippet may be deployed on your device when you click on a link in an email, interact with a pop-up form or visit the Site via a Google, Facebook or an Instagram ad. The details of this tracking functionality are described here: .

How Long We Retain Your Data

Site traffic Data is retained for a shorter or equal duration equivalent to Google Analytics’ default data retention policy.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you wish to have a comment you’ve made removed from the Site, send an email to the Owner with your request. See the section, “What Rights You Have Over Your Data” in this privacy policy for more details.

For Users that register on the Site, we also store the personal information they provide in their User profile. All Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you no longer wish to receive email communication from us, click on the unsubscribe link that appears in our email communication. You can also send an email to the Owner of this site (email address is below), providing the email address that you wish to have unsubscribed.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this Site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How We Protect Your Data

The Site uses the Secure Socket Layer protocol that encrypts data entered on this Site so that it is transmitted securely between the browser and web server.
